Hon. Rosy Sofia Akbar

Hon Rosy Akbar was first elected into parliament in the 2014 general election and served as the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation. She was re-elected in 2018 and served as the Minister for Health and Medical Services in the Fijian Government. She was re-elected in 2022 and now serves as a member of the Fiji First Opposition.

Prior to her political career, Hon. Akbar had a long and distinguished career in the Education sector. She is passionate about empowering women to become better leaders in all facets of society whether it be at the community, district or national levels
